Phyto - Secret De Nuit

At the beginning of this year, one of my New Years Resolutions was to take better care of my hair, my mothers always warned me if I carry on the way I am, I'll be "bald before you know it". SO, I've invested in regular hair cuts, and an army of nourishing products.

Enter Phyto.

This is night time magic at it's very best, there are no false promises or unfounded claims, just pure results.

After years of colouring, a perm (yes, really), daily straightening and some extensions, I am fully in recovery mode, with treatments a plenty and when theres a treatment that works over night, whilst i sleep, that is the one for me, its so low maintainence, all i do is get up style and go.

Secret De Nuit gets to work as we relax, there are no polluants hindering it's progress, no stress and no impateince, it simply gets to work on repairing and creating a protective sheild around my locks for the day ahead. It's not advertised on the box, but this is a great detangler, my hair is notourisly knotty.

This lightweight cream glides onto the lenghts of my hair without leaving a sticky residue and without an overpowering scent hair feels silky to touch, I always pop my hair up in a bun to avoid getting it all over my face. Added plus it doesn't all just seep into the pillow this way. I would definitely recommend this for alternate uses for the first few weeks after colouring your hair to lock in colour and keep that "new hair" feel. Then use once a week/fortnight depending on the condition of your hair.

Available online HERE or from SPACE NK RRP £28 -  75ml

Carol Joy -Her Eyes Only

The under eye area is so delicate, so very delicate that we must take care of it. I may only be mid way through my 20s, but prevention is always better than a cure.

Carol Joy London is an eye cream I have been using for a little over a month and my under eye area is prone to dark circles after one to many late nights, a bit of dehydration lines after a long day and often a little puffiness. I was at one point using various lotions and potions depending on what my eyes required however with Carol Joy Her Eyes Only, I only need one.

A multitasking, hard working product that delivers. Packed full with vitamins to combat the signs of ageing, working to repair the skin and brighten the area. Fighting dark circles and puffiness.

This is definitely a product for life, a soft cream that easily absorbs into the skin meaning there is little to no time waiting around to apply primers and foundation. Coming in a handy controllable pump meaning you don’t have to waste any product using as little or as much as you require. I always feel that with eye creams or serums I waste a lot of product because too much comes out of the tube. Another thing this product is good at is being waste free.

RRP £89.00 from Urban Retreat at Harrods available here . Also available in His Eyes Only for him available here

Slightly higher than my usual price point, but I'm a believer in you only have one face, so take care of it! And this is worth every last penny. The sleek packaging is an added bonus.

Vichy Idealia Life Serum

Designed for over stressed, skin exposed to pollution and built to counteract an unbalanced diet. If ever there was a reason to have a cheeky slice of cake it's this stuff. Ive always believed in what you put in shows on the outside and whilst I advocate a balanced lifestyle, sometimes, over indulgence is something we all keep as a little guilty pleasure so its about time someone created something to counteract the bad days!

This Serum is cream like in texture when you first put it on but once you start to rub it in it glides like a serum and soaks in leaving skin feeling nourishing, has a happy scent and isn't to over powering.

Once rubbed in it leaves a dewy glow and during the summer can be worn alone without foundation. Although it doesn't even out skin tone, if you're happy going foundation-less this will leave you fresh faced all day.

Used twice a day for a few weeks i can see the benefits, and if it helps me feel a little less guilty when i indulge at the weekends, then that's a huge plus. With the festive season just around the corner we all need this on our beauty shelves.

Usually £29.50 in boots, but at the moment its £22.12! (Price correct of 11.9.13)

Dr Organic's Moroccan Argan Oil.. Hair Saviour!

I LOVE Dr Organc, the body oil and hand cream are two of my favorite products, so when this landed on my lap, how could i resist?

Firstly let me just rave about the lid, its a no spill lid! It slots over the pump and stops it leaking and being accidentally pushed and for an oil based product this is an absolute savior - no more discovering its leaked everywhere, before I've even put this on my hair its already impressed me.

Ingredient list: nurturing and great ingredients for taming fizz, and creating the perfect hair texture.

Texture: Its an oil, so as you can guess a little goes a long way with this product i used two pumps for my whole hair and I've got quite long hair. Having recently died my hair, I'm aware hair can be volatile after being coloured and my hair frizzy (or "fair fluffy" A term used to describe my best friends hair by her boyfriend - comic in the making which is actually quite a cute term for "frizzy") at the bets of times! So after vowing to take care of my hair post dying it. This is definitely a nice little weekly treat for my hair - I can find oil can make hair a bit greasy and sometimes go a bit limp as it gets weighed down by product.

Hair is currently in heaven, smelling devine. Quite a strong smell at first but really melts into the hair nicely, smells natural and you can definitely smells each of the ingredients in their own right. I would wait a while before applying perfume as the two smells might clash.

Power Peptide Serum

I've never used a Sanctuary face product before, I've used the body scrubs and body butters but the face serum is a new one.

on the tin

"A targeted peptide serum with nourishing 7 oil helix to visibly lift skin & noticeable reduce fine lines & wrinkles"

What it does

Sooths skin, firms and leaves complexion significantly brighter.

Very attractive packaging, no sure how they got it to look like that, but it is amazing! Also helpful that you can see how much you're using and when your almost running out great for pre planning trips on stocking up on skincare!

The Basics

Texture: Soft, almost fluffy, light and soaks in like a dream...

Smell: A hint of orange, otherwise no other smell.

Taste: Don't eat it.

I have noticed a small difference in the fine lines around my mouth, whilst they re significantly prominent yet, I am a firm believer in getting rid before the lines get comfortable!

I have only been using this at night, as I felt it was a little to silky for day use.

Priced at £18 in boots at the moment. Usually £25. In comparison to other serums claiming to do the same thing, this one is a bargain, and not only that, Sanctuary is a well loved brand. The body scrubs are my absolute favourite skin treat and this serum has earned it's place on my shelf.
